Stories of Joy: Gayaza–Nakwero Celebrates Its New Watoto Church Campus
The wait is over – and the impact is already being felt!
After the launch of Watoto Church Gayaza–Nakwero, members of the community shared testimonies filled with joy and gratitude. For many, the arrival of Watoto Church close to home is an answered prayer and a fresh beginning.
Here are some of their stories:
Lydia Gloria Dhamuzungu – Regional Leader, Watoto Church Gayaza–Nakwero
“We were encouraged to create micro-sites of 100 people meeting in a home, but we had stubborn faith. We told Pastor Eddie that we wanted a church. We prayed and believed God for it.
Where we are standing now was once full of anthills and shrubs, but today it is a beautiful place of worship. This shows that God does not despise our faith. No matter how big our prayer is, He can answer. Today, we give glory to God – the God who answered our prayers for planting Watoto Church Gayaza–Nakwero. May He answer your prayers too.”
Daniel Tuli
“Having the church come closer to us is a blessing. It’s convenient, and I’m excited to spread the Word of God in our community through cell groups. Church is all about celebrating community.”
Brenda Nalugya
“I am so excited! Before the launch of Watoto Church Gayaza–Nakwero, I used to go to Watoto Church Downtown, but now this is nearer – I’m really happy!”
Collin Ssemakula
“It took me only 10 minutes to get here from Manyanja. Do you know what that means? Instead of the two hours I used to plan for when driving to Ntinda!”
Brian and Rose Ssebagala
“We are excited for Watoto Church Gayaza–Nakwero. The distance from where we were going – Watoto Church Ntinda – has now been shortened, and this place is so spacious.”
Daphine Ataliba
“The turnout has been beautiful. More people will be reached and discipled. Families are going to be united. This is a big shift in God’s Kingdom.”
Jesse Mwandara
“I am very expectant. I look forward to seeing this church change the community because it will change lives.”
Doreen Eleazar
“I am excited! What we waited for has finally come. See what the Lord has done – those of us who have been attending online now have a home, a church!”
Jonathan Muwanguzi
“Today has been an awesome day – one we have long anticipated. For me, this is an opportunity to serve the Lord.”
Jennifer Nsubuga
“I am happy that we now have a branch here. We no longer need to travel to Watoto Church Downtown, and this means so much for the Kingdom.”
Jerome Ssenyonjo – History Maker
“We are excited that God has given us another opportunity to expand our mission as History Makers – to disciple a bold generation of godly, transformational leaders who seize today to leave a mark for Christ.”
Sandra Kasoma
“This is extremely exciting. I thank God that this is our 18th campus. It shows we are growing and expanding as a family. There is so much work ahead – touching those around us with the love of Jesus.”
Sam Okalang
“It was such a joy to see people sing their hearts out to the Lord through music and dance. We thank God for a campus that has come closer to our community.”

Watoto Church Gayaza–Nakwero is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see all that God will continue to do in and through this community.
Join us every Sunday at 10am for our adult, teens, and children’s services. You’re most welcome home!
