Watoto Church

Between you and your spouse, who is particular about entertaining guests?

We are in the season of celebrating God’s faithfulness to Watoto church. And we especially honor our Founders Gary and Marilyn Skinner. They have demonstrated faithfulness to the work of the church. We honor them for their sacrifice and diligence in getting Watoto church to where it is now. We want to especially honor them for modeling true christian marriage to the church and the world at large. They have walked this journey together for fifty years this month. Wow. Often Pastor Gary has acknowledged the impact of marriage on his life saying ‘Iam who I am today because of my wife. I could not accomplish even a quarter of what we have done if it were not for Marilyn.’ As Christian couples, we have a picture to aspire to and a challenge to take on. What we have seen and heard, we can emulate and take it to a higher level. Let’s take moments to appreciate the power of a marriage well lived out.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NIV “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
