TOPIC: THE POWER OF AGREEMENT AS A COUPLE

ICE BREAKER: Men are more likely to be hesitant in giving large amounts of money. True or false?

TEXTS (NIV)
Mathew 18:19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven”.

Amos 3:3 “Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”

2 Corinthians 1:20: “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God”.

REFLECTION:  God’s promises are ‘Yes and Amen’ for those who are in Christ Jesus.  As couples trust God for their future dreams and aspirations concerning children, jobs/careers, finances, investments, etc, it is important to be in one accord because there is power in agreement.  Building on the biblical truth that the ‘two shall become one’, couples are encouraged to emulate this teaching to partake of the blessings that come with being in one accord.

DISCUSSION

1. What in your view perpetuates disagreements about money matters among couples?
2. In reference to the scriptures shared above, what should couples do to find agreement over what to give at this year’s MMO?
3. How can we help one another to overcome hindrances to generosity in our families?
4. PRAY for one another to experience more financial freedom.
