Watoto Church Nansana Celebrates 2 Years

Watoto Church Nansana Marks Two Years of God’s Faithfulness

There was great joy at Watoto Church Nansana – Wakiso on Sunday, September 7, as the congregation celebrated its second anniversary with remarkable testimonies. Among them was the story of Rogers and Sarah Mubiru, who welcomed their first child after 16 years of marriage.

Mrs. Mubiru, now 55, shared that she got married at 40 believing she would conceive quickly, but the journey took years of prayer and faith. “We stood on God’s Word, that none shall be barren or miscarry if they worship Him. Even as the years passed, we trusted His promise – and He did it,” she testified.

The couple’s story has left a lasting impact, having been a prayer request in countless fellowships and cells. “Almost everyone has been praying with us, and when the baby came, people joked that they could finally take us off their list,” she added with a smile.

Pastor Peter Migadde, the campus pastor noted that the celebration was not just about marking two years but also about making an impact in the community. Since its launch in 2023, Watoto Church Nansana-Wakiso has grown from 35 to 82 Cell Families.

“Through these cell families, we’ve undertaken projects like building a bridge to connect two villages. God has been faithful, and as His hands and feet, we are able to act courageously and bring healing to these communities,” he said.

Congregation members also shared how the church has shaped their lives. Julian Desire Basemerwa said the Equip Streams gave her the confidence to lead. “I wanted to guide people from an informed point of view and with confidence. That’s why I graduated in Adventure in the Word and Adventure in Prayer, and I am now doing Each One Reach One (Evangelism Explosion). I even got baptized just a week ago,” she said.

Sam and Linda Kasoozi praised cell life for helping them connect with their neighbors, while Mugula Nakiwunga testified of recommitting her life to Christ and finding support during a difficult time.

“I was very sick and admitted to hospital, but it was my cell family that stood with me,” she said. “Not that my relatives were absent, but they were all out of the country and couldn’t help. My cell leader came to my rescue, kept bringing me food, caring for me, and stayed by my side until I was discharged.”

For Joe Irumba and his wife – the first couple to wed at Watoto Nansana – the journey has been life-changing. “God has been good these last two years; we have seen greater things and reached greater heights,” Irumba noted.

For Elizabeth Katumba, fellowship has been an opportunity to serve and bless others. “We are blessed to bless,” she said.
