MARRIEDS CELL GUIDE: AUGUST 2025

TOPIC: A MARRIAGE ROOTED IN JESUS CHRIST

ICE BREAKER: When was the last time you ‘went out‘ as a couple without the children?

REFLECTIONS:
Marriage was established by God as a divine institution for husband and wife to experience unconditional love, acceptance and mutual affection within the bond of commitment. The Vows we share to each other are “for better, for worse, for richer, or poorer, in sickness or in health, forsaking all others… until death do us part.” Unfortunately, many couples today are challenged and statistics show that the rate of divorce and separation in Uganda is increasing. How can we as Christian couples, be intentional to build marriages that last and practice biblical principles of love and forgiveness.

TEXTS:
Matthew 7:24-27
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

1 Corinthians 6: 18- 20
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.
