TOPIC: PLANNING TOGETHER AS A COUPLE

ICE BREAKER:  What did you focus on most this year? Your family knowing God or growing a chain of investments?  

REFLECTION:
At the start of this year, we were encouraged by our leaders to set bold goals, motivated by strong convictions followed by courageous actions.  When we seek God’s Kingdom and guidance first, He aligns our efforts to eternal purpose.  Plans established on human wisdom will remain shaky like a tree planted on sinking sand. We are encouraged to always seek God’s guidance while setting our life goals and plans, since He promised to direct us and make our plans succeed. 

TEXTS: Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Philippians 4:13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

DISCUSSION

1. Share two blessings you have experienced this year as a couple, resulting from setting bold goals and committing them to the Lord.
2. In reference to Proverbs 16:2, what courageous actions can you take as a couple when your plans seem not to go as planned?
3. How can you ensure that you and your spouse have aligned convictions and values as you plan for your family?
4. What are some ways you can support and encourage each other in your walk with God and in achieving your goals?
